With an XL Donut from Big Fat Snare Drum, you get a smaller version of Steve's Donut. smaller in the sense that the ring has a much bigger hole.

In reality, the XL Donut may resemble an oversized dampening ring more than a donut as we have come to know them from BFSD.

What this variant adds is that it still gives your snare drum a soft and pleasant sound when you put the XL Donut on your drum head.

But unlike the other models, you get more of the original snare drum sound with the XL Donut. The XL Donut therefore does not affect the drum's tone as much as the other models.
