What is Hoop Protect 180?

Hoop Protect 180 from Dutch DRUM'n'BASE is a smart 2-in-1 product for your bass drum. 2-in-1 because it both protects your wooden hoops (so it doesn't get "eaten up" by the claws of your kick drum pedal), and at the same time also ensures an optimal hoop grip of the pedal.

As something unique compared to other similar products on the market, Hoop Protect 180 covers upper and the lower side of the hoop (hence 180 as in 180 degrees).

Installation

The hoop protector is provided with a strong self-adhesive backing. This ensures that you get easy and optimal installation.

Clean the hoop

For good measure, before mounting, you should clean the area on the hoop with a suitable cleaning product. When you have a completely clean and grease-free surface, you are ready for installation.

Check the position

Before you remove the protective film on the back and put the hoop protector on, you should start by putting it where it needs to sit. That way, you get a sense of how far the protector should go over the rim, and you can also check that the angle is correct (you don't want it to sit crooked, after all...).

Application

When you have a good feel for the placement, you remove the protective film, place the product on the upper part of the hoop - where it should sit - and then firmly press the rest of the protector in place. Run your finger from the starting point to the edge, and make sure you get the protector tight and uniform around the edge of the hoop, and then continue until the product sits where it should.

Fixes problem on some electric drum kits

The protector also works well for users of Roland's electric kick drums. Here can be a distinct problem, where the bass drum pedal simply does not get a proper grip. We know from customers that Hoop Protect 180 solves this problem, so that a better grip between pedal and bass drum is achieved.
