What is CymbalChief?
CymbalChief is an American patented cymbal holder that is both quite simple and quite smart.
The idea of the holder is to give your cymbal better freedom of movement, which in turn leads to improved sound and spread of the sound from the cymbal.
The holder is designed in a way that allows it to follow the cymbal in its movements. This improves the freedom of movement of the cymbal itself and thus also gives a more open sound from the cymbal.
Used with The Grombal
CymbalChief can in principle be used alone. The same can be said about The Grombal. But together they form a superb team!
The Grombal (the soft keyhole protector you may already know) gives your cymbal protection against keyholing, but also fits perfectly on top of a CymbalChief. You therefore get the optimal solution by combining the two products.
Cymbal holder anatomy
CymbalChief is easily mounted on an "empty" cymbal stand as soon as you have removed all the factory-fitted washers, felt and screws. Get rid of them - get on with CymbalChief!
CymbalChief is made in one piece, but is divieded into two areas. There is a lower and an upper area.
The lower area is the base, which creates the foundation in the holder. The upper area of the holder has the special property that it can tilt (thus following the cymbal in its movements). This is where your cymbal should lie when you play. This means - in all its simplicity - that the cymbal lies stably and well on a surface that follows the movements of the cymbal when you play.
How to mount CymbalChief
- Remove felt, washers and screws from the top of your pelvic stand
- Slide your CymbalChief down over the threaded rod until it can no longer come
- Attach a Grombal to the hole on your pelvis
- Now place your pelvis on the pelvic stand
You are now ready to use your pelvis, with all the benefits that CymbalChief and keyhole protector The Grombal give you.

Optimization and opportunities
Due to CymbalChief's special design, you can either remove or keep the flat (or curved) metal washer located at the bottom of the stack on some types of cymbal stands. In addition, neither the disc nor the holder falls off during transport, as the CymbalChief fits snugly on a standard 8 mm. cymbal stand.
Made in USA
CymbalChief is made in the USA and is made of a strong polymer material. The holder can thus easily handle the load from even the largest cymbals.
You can get CymbalChief in 4 different colors: Black, Red, Yellow and Silver (gray).
