Big Fat Snare Drum - Medford Square 14"

Medford Square from Big Fat Snare Drum is constructed a bit differently than the other dampeners from Big Fat Snare Drum.

This edition has a vast black outer area that is thicker than normal. This gives the primary dampening of the edge of the drum and this gives a short resonance.

Furthermore, the model is equipped with a 7" square in the middle made of mylar - the same material used for making drum heads. Therefore, the surface is nice to play on.

If you put this Medford Square dampener on your snare drum, stuff happens! Immediately, the sound is taken back to the 70's with the deadesst and deepest sound imagineable.

As quickly as you change the sound with this dampener, just as quickly it is changed back to your original sound by quickly removing the dampener. This is possible thanks to the small carving at the edge of the dampener.
