With this 14" Mystic hi-hat from Anatolian, you get a hi-hat with relatively heavy cymbals. That is, a hihat with lots of sound in it.
But where heavy cymbals are often quite bright - maybe even a bit sharp, this hi-hat is nicely rounded and dark. This is due, among other things, to the fact that the surface of the cymbals is completely un-lathed - both top and bottom - i.e. completely raw!
The cymbals are also relatively heavily hammered, which also contributes to the crisp sound.
The hi-hat sounds very transparent, and the two cymbals sounds nice and quite clean together.
A great hi-hat for virtually all genres. Here, it's really more about whether you like the slightly more heavy playing feel that the slightly thicker cymbals give you.
