Anatolian's JC Series 14" Brown Sugar hi-hat is characterized by its raw surface, except for the lathed bell. When you turn the cymbal over, it's the opposite: a raw bell and a lathed surface. This applies to both cymbals.
This means you get the best of both worlds tonally - a darker sound from the raw surface and a more open sound from the fully lathed (underside).
The tonal quality of the hi-hat is relatively high, and the sound is pleasant and warm - bordering on dry.
The hi-hat feels easy to control, which makes it easy to be "in control of it". The attack is fairly tight, further contributing to the feeling of control.
A fine hi-hat for many things, particularly soul, jazz, funk, and other tonally more "dusty" genres.
